The FBI released NICS data for June 2026. Total background checks for the United States reached 1.89 million. That represents a modest one-month increase of 106,309 checks but also a 11-year low for the month of June. Similarly, the total for May 2026 also set an 11-year low for the month of May. Total checks for the year is down 9.1 percent compared to the same period in 2025.
